Originally shared by British, French and Sardinia's (Italian) soldiers returning from the Crimea War in 1856, in Crimea, Russia, a peninsula on the Black Sea. This indeterminate produces 8-16 oz. oblate shaped red to purple and mahogany slicers, perfect for sandwiches and salads. A favourite of growers and chefs alike, with flavors of Merlot, salty and sweet.
