This tomato originated from the Cherokee nation in Tennessee in 1890.
This very heavy producing variety, with fruits surpassing 12-16 oz., is a favorite of avid tomato growers. Producing colors of purplish brown to green shoulders these tomatoes are prized for their robust rich tomato flavour. Great for slicing, salads, soups and even sauces. Indeterminate variety with fantastic disease resistance.

Growing Directions

Sow seeds 1/4" deep, indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost. Transplant or sow directly outdoors 36-48" apart in full sun, when ground is warm and all chance of frost has past. Fertilize with fish emulsion.
Support with strong stake as the heavy fruits will topple most cages.
