Phaseolus vulgaris
70 Days
25 Seeds
Originally named Texas Wonder and also known as Old Homestead, this pole bean was renamed and introduced publicly in 1877 and has been a success for gardeners since. There is no better bean for cooking, or freezing and it’s harvests are enormous. Produces 7-9” stringless pods on 6-8’ high plants that rely on poles or a trellis to climb. Sow seeds 1” deep, 6” apart in full sun when all chance of frost has past. Harvest beans regularly as them become tough when grown too large Support with pole or trellis.
